All You Need To Know About Award Winning Nollywood Actress, Stephanie Okereke Linus


Stephanie Okereke Linus is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer, and Director.

She is an award-winning actress who is very passionate about activism and humanitarian pursuits.

Here are 17 things you should know about her.

1. She was born on the 2nd of October, 1982 in Imo State.

2.She is the 6th out of eight children.


 3. She completed her primary & secondary education in Delta State.

4. She attended the University of Calabar where she bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Literature.

5. She starred in two Nollywood movies; Compromise 2 and Waterloo while she was still a teenager in the year 1997.

6. Stephanie Okereke contested in the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria pageant in 2002 and came in at 2nd place.

 7. She graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2007 and soon released the movie Through the Glass which received an Africa Movie Academy Award nomination for Best Screenplay in 2009.

8. In 2014, she released the award-winning movie, Dry where she served as a director, scriptwriter, producer, and actress.

9. She has starred in over 90 Nollywood movies of this includes some like Waterloo, Pretender, Private Sin,  Blind Justice, Dream Lover, Last Girl Standing, Days of Bondage, A Time To Die amongst others.

10. In 2011, she was honoured by the Nigerian government with National Honour as a Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).

11.She was married to Super Eagles Defender Chikelue Iloenyosi in 2004, but the actress filed for divorce eight years later on the grounds of infidelity and illicit affairs.

12. In April 2012, Stephanie Okereke got married to Linus Idahosa in Paris, France and they have a son, Enosata Linus who was born in 2015.

13. Stephanie Okereke Linus has been the recipient of so many awards form the AMVCA best movie category to the REEL Awards, Afro Dublin Awards, Best of Nollywood Awards, Afro Hollywood Awards, ZaFAA Global Awards, Film Makers of Nigeria Awards etc.

14. In 2015, she started a TV reality show called Make Me Fabulous. The reality show helps to rekindle the spark in marriages from newly-weds to old couples.

In 2016, she spoke alongside other world leaders like the First Female U.S. Secretary of State, Madeleine K Albright and the Canadian First Lady, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau at the #NotTheCost Conference in New York in her capacity as the NDI’s Celebrity Ambassador for the ‘STOP Violence Against Women in Elections’ campaign.

16. Stephanie Okereke has been a brand ambassador for many organisations including the MINISO Nigeria and Green Valley Oatmeal. She was a representative of Kanekalon Hair, Diva Pads, Nigerian Young Professional Forum (NYPF). In 2015, the National Democratic Institute appointed her as the ambassador for Stop Violence Against Women in Elections (STOP-VAWIE).

17. She was appointed  National OPS-WASH Ambassador in September 2020.
