Jessica Allen signed up to be a surrogate for a Chinese couple but what she wasn’t expecting was the outcome of her decision. Her story has gone on to become viral with medical experts trying to put an explanation to what happened.
After getting implanted with the couple’s baby, Jessica was told she would be having a twin but what she didn’t know aws that one of the babies was actually her’s and her husband’s. Unknown to her, after she got pregnant with the Chinese couple’s baby, she got pregnant with her own baby.
When she later put to bed last December, she wasn’t allowed to see the babies because they were taken by their ‘parent’ immediately. Two months later she got her first photos of the babies and that was when the real drama started.
Allen and her husband were shocked to see that the boys were not identical and one was much lighter than the other. DNA tests later confirmed their suspicion; one of the boys was Jessica’s biological son.
Unfortunately getting her son back despite the evidence was not easy. Jessica and husband, Wardell claim that they were faced with difficulties with the surrogacy agency before their son was released to them. After a series of negotiations, Jessica who was paid $35,000 for her surrogacy job was told by the agency to pay between $18,000 to $22,000 for the return of her child.
In February, Jessica and her son were reunited midst tears of joy and jubilation. The incidence later went viral after their story hit the news media.
In an interview with New York Post, she said,” It was the first time I saw my son in person and it took place in a Starbucks parking lot. We were floored.”
