We Are Hosting a Session At Africa NXT 2023 Themed ‘The Future Of Black Women in Tech: Collaboration and Innovation’

There is no gainsaying that we need more black women in technology and one of the reasons why this is important is because they can provide a more balanced view of female gender and technology sector issues.

It has also been proven repeatedly that organizations with greater diversity bring in more revenue compared to those that do not embrace diversity in the workforce.

We currently live in a tech-driven world, however, as of 2022, only 26% of women globally are in tech or have tech jobs.

These statistics show that women especially black women are still underrepresented due to barriers such as education, not enough mentors, lack of opportunities, etc.

Therefore, this session seeks answers to pertinent questions and issues regarding the future of women in tech via collaboration and innovation.

As a means to an end, it is believed that by collaborating, black women can get that soft landing that will open doors of opportunities both locally and internationally.

As the saying goes “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Speakers on the panel are: Solafunmi Sosanya (Youtube Lead, East &West Africa) and Yvonne Ogwulu (Product Designer and Non-profit Founder, Bitmama and Tech Girl Magic Initiative)

Date: Friday, February 10th, 2023
Time: 12.00 pm – 1:30 pm

The Panel session will be moderated by Anu Odubanjo, Content Strategist/ Founder at FabWoman.
