
There is no doubt that what a man can do, a woman can do even better. This is the case of Aarinola Olaiya, who reportedly broke a record recently by being the first student in 28 years to have a distinction in surgery at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun.
She reportedly also bagged distinctions in medicine and community health.

Olaiya was born in Akure, Ondo State, into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kolawole Olaiya. Her father is a lawyer, while her mother is a retired head teacher. She hails from Usin Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
She is not new to excellence. As the assistant head girl of her secondary school, Federal Government Girls’ College, Efon-Alaaye, Ekiti, in her final year, she carted away 22 prizes on her graduation day.
