Amusan Tosin Chukwunonso, a female student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has made history after graduating from the Department of Hospitality and Tourism with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.99 on a 5.00 scale.
Amusan, who shared the achievement in a post on X on Wednesday, said she became the first student in her department, college, and university to attain the academic feat.
Her provisional statement of results showed that she earned A grades in all eight courses listed for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, including Security and Loss Prevention in Hospitality, Sociology of Tourism, Strategic Planning and Decision Making, Hospitality and Tourism Ethics, Bar Operations, Seminar II (Post Data), Project, and Nigerians’ Food and Industrial Raw Materials.
The result showed that she had a 5.00 GPA for the current semester, taking her cumulative total to 4.99.
Amusan also disclosed that she had maintained A grades throughout her program, with only one B recorded.
She tweeted, “I graduated with a 4.99/5.00 CGPA in Hospitality and Tourism from Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), setting a new record as the first in my department, college, and the university. Had A’s all through with a single B.
Her academic achievement comes as other outstanding Nigerian university graduates are also being recognised for exceptional performances.
