You Wouldn’t Believe How Much American Celebrity, Blac Chyna Was Paid To Make An Appearance In Nigeria


 

American socialite, Angela Renèe, popularly known as Blac Chyna, reportedly recieved the sum of N10 million as an appearance fee during her visit to Nigeria.

Chyna’s visit  to Nigeria  caused quite a stir on social media when it was revealed she was going to promote a lightning cream owned by Nigerian-Cameroonian beauty entrepreneur, Dencia.

Many commentators all over the world debated the issue of skin whitening and bleaching and condemned this move by Dencia and Blac Chyna but this didn’t stop the duo from doing their thing.

Despite the controversy surrounding her visit, Blac Chyna was warmly welcomed in Lagos for the launch of  the skin lightening cream which reportedly costs about $250 per jar (N 98,900)

The fact that she was paid a sum of 10 million naira to make an appearance doesn’t come as surprise looking at the cost of the product itself.

The brains behind the Whitenicious brand, Dencia, even revealed that the “average Nigerian” cannot afford her cream.

Speaking to press men at the launch, Dencia explained that her brand which was launched in 2014 has been in existence for a while and the aim of the launch was to create awareness in Nigeria.

She further explained that the product is more of a luxury item than a necessity and for this reason not everyone can afford it.

“[Nigerians] have a choice. It’s not a necessity, it’s a luxury. The average Nigerian cannot buy it. So, it’s for people that need it and can afford it,”
