3. Her parents are also athletes – her father, Corey Gauff played college basketball, and her mother, Candi Gauff played track and field.

4. Her parents gave up their career to become her coach. Her father, Corey, became her primary coach while her mother oversaw her homeschooling.

5. She changed her to ‘Coco’ because her original name ‘Cori’ was similar to her father’s name.

10. She won the USTA Clay Court National 12-and-under title at the age of 10 years and three months – to become the youngest champion in the tournament’s history.

11. Gauff made her junior Grand Slam debut at the 2017 US Open finishing runner-up to Amanda Anisimova. She became the youngest girls’ singles finalist in US Open history.

12. Gauff won her first professional match after making her debut on the ITF Women’s Circuit in May 2018, qualifying in the $25K event at Osprey.
