‘Hope It’s True’ – Nigerians React To News Of Canada Granting Asylum To Lekki Shooting Eyewitness, DJ Switch


According to reports, DJ Switch may have been granted asylum in Canada.

The sole eyewitness to the Lekki Shooting on Monday appeared before the Sub-committee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the Canadian parliament.

The entertainer recounted the incident that led to the deaths of about a dozen protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate noting that the military opened fire on the protesters after creating a three-formation line.

She told the Canadian parliament that she counted not less than seven persons shot, adding that one of the soldiers threatened to shoot her.

DJ Switch also revealed how she had been in hiding due to multiple threats from unknown people which led her to flee her home and also Nigeria.

This new development has sparked reactions on Twitter with many happy with the move.
