There is currently an ongoing rape saga between a Nigerian lady known as Seyitan Babatayo, Nigerian entertainer Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj.
She had taken to Twitter to call out the singer who recently clocked 40 for raping her sometime in 2018.
The allegations of rape against Dbanj came a day after he strongly condemned rape on his Instagram page. This was in reaction to rape and gruesome murder of Uwa.

Immediately after his post, Benjamin Ese, a talent/model scout, alleged that D’banj raped his friend two years ago and then told the singer he had no right to speak against rape having performed the act in the past.

Seyitan, then took to twitter to collaborate the accusations made by Ese against Dbanj in a thread.

These accusations got a lot of people talking and contemplating whether the story was true or not.
Dbanj, on the other hand, didn’t react or address the issue up until Tuesday, June 16, 2020, when the musician took to Instagram to address the issue where he demanded N100million as compensation from Seyitan.

It was later discovered that Seyitan had allegedly been detained at a Police station in Ikeja on the orders of D’banj and that her family and lawyers had been denied any access to her.
This information came to light according to a tweet made by Kiki Mordi.
She wrote:
Seyitan accused D'Banj a couple of weeks before this article of sexual assault.
Yesterday at about noon, Seyitan was and is still detained in Sodipo Ikeja and hasn't been granted access to friends, family or a lawyer lawyers. https://t.co/UqdAlNXfnR— Kiki Mordi (@kikimordi) June 17, 2020
After the tweet by Kiki, Twitter people started demanding for justice and airing their opinion on the matter.

So Seyitan was going to take her case to the police and 24 hours before she was unlawfully detained, most of her tweets were taken down and is currently nowhere to be found ON the day she’s meant to state her case and possibly press charges . Sound like a coincidence to y’all ?

So apparently Seyitan is being held by Dbanj's manager somewhere on the island and she apparently did not go home from the police station. She is being coerced into recanting her statement. They've tried money, now it's coercion. Is this your fave?! https://t.co/37JKQFKxQG

On Dbanj and Seyitan's issue, rape is a crime, and so is false rape accusation.
If anyone of them is found guilty, let them face the law.
It would be a very big shame though if the story of Police intimidation and non-access to lawyers is true.

It is unconscionable that women in Nigeria cannot speak up about sexual violence done to them without fear of more violence.
What is this pressure on Seyitan to recant if Dbanj is not guilty? Didn't they already ask for 100m in damages? Why not allow the law take its course?

Twitter is one big dung hole. You say rape is a serious matter, yes it is, but you don't think denying rape allegation is. DBanj knows how serious rape is, he is suing Seyitan, you guys still talk nonsense!! Ok, once you're accused of rape, just accept it and start crying, right?

Please donate to Seyitan’s legal fund. Unlawful detention for speaking out about rape is just another way to silence and scare women into not naming their abusers. Let’s get this girl out of there, and help her get the representation she needs. This is just terrible! https://t.co/0J1h7pjYLb

However, in a shocking twist, via her Twitter page on Wednesday night, June 17, 2020, Seyitan said she was moving on with her life and denied any information regarding her arrest.
I’m done with all these back and forth drama…Frank took me to the party and gave me the key to the room.
I’m moving on and leaving everything behind me. Thanks and God bless— Aunty Seyitan (@seyitannn_) June 17, 2020
I don’t know where all this rumors are coming from . Myself and my mom were not and have not been arrested .
