Hauwa Ojeifo made Nigeria proud at the just concluded 2018 MTV Europe Music Award which held on the 4th of November.
Hauwa Ojeifo of She Writes Woman was named one of the winners of the MTV EMA Generation Change Award. This award category was just introduced to the MTV EMA.

The mental health activist who was not present at the 2018 MTV EMA was nominated alongside Xiuhtezcatl “X” Martinez, Sonita Alizadeh, Mohamed Al Jounde, and Ellen Jones, and all 5 of them were named as winners.

The MTV EMA Generation Change Award was set up “to elevate and empower the fearless, original young people who are changing the world”.
Hauwa Ojeifo was described as a vibrant voice in creating awareness for mental health in Nigeria.
In June, she was chosen among two other Nigerians, Isaac Ezirim and Kennedy Ekezie Joseph, to receive the first-ever Queen’s Young Leaders Award.
