Nigerian Screenwriter, Kay Oyegun Sets The Pace As She Wins Award For ‘This Is Us’ Screenplay
Nigerians in diaspora have always performed excellently well in their professions, especially those in the entertainment industry.
We can say the same for Nigerian writer, Kay Oyegun, who wrote the screenplay for the NBC series, ‘This Is Us’. She won the award for Outstanding Writing In a Dramatic Series.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People holds the annual NAACP Image Awards to honor outstanding performances in film, television, music, and literature by coloured people. Kay Oyegun’s outstanding performance was also honoured for her work in ‘This Is Us’, being an outstanding writer.
In addition, she is the only female in the league of writers of ‘This Is Us’. Kay Oyegun has shown impressive performance in her work on the series.
The series is emotional, captivating and sensual. It appeals so much to the emotions and also has so many coloured people going through daily activities that affect their lives. Characters like Beth, Randall, Zoe, Tess and Deja portray the struggles people go through with much enthusiasm.
A huge congratulations goes to writer, Kay Oyegun, for this marvellous award.
