Kehinde Bankole is an award-winning actress, model, singer, TV host, and entertainer. Since her acting debut about 17 years ago, she has become a household name.
Early Life and Education
Kehinde Bankole was born on March 27, 1985, as a twin in a family of six. She had her primary education at Tunwase Nursery and Primary School, Ikeja. She was admitted to study Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University but took a break to concentrate more on her modelling career in 2004.
Ironically, her twin, Taiwo started acting before Kehinde but is now into events management.
Career Life
Not many know Bankole started as a model before branching into acting. Her debut into the entertainment world was when she auditioned as a contestant in the 2003 Miss Commonwealth Nigeria pageant. Although she did not win, she claimed the “exposure” was all she wanted as she made the top 10.
She also had a shot at Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2002 but could not make the top five list. Bankole was selected along with Sylvia Udeogu and Olaide Olaogun to become the new face of Lux in 2007 after their amazing roles in the Super Story drama: Everything It Takes. This was where Kehinde made her first acting debut.
She also starred in other Wale Adenuga productions like Papa Ajasco and This Life.
Kehinde has been featured in a number of award-winning Nollywood movies like Two Brides and a Baby, The Meeting, Awakening, Dear Affy, October 1 Finding Hubby, Country Hard, Blood Sisters, and more recently, Sista.
In 2022, Bankole was unveiled as one of the cast members of the new Disney+ animated series ‘Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire.’ The series is set to be released on July 5, 2023.

Awards And Nominations
She won the ‘Revelation of the Year’ award at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards. The game changer was when she won the highly coveted ‘Best Actress Of The Year’ Award At The 2015 African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) for her role in Tunde Afolayan’s October 1 movie. She was also nominated for TV Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Awards.
On her non-scandalous career
She once said: “Apart from the fact that I’m a homely person, I am also very careful about the kinds of places I go and the people that I associate with. I have my family name to protect and I wouldn’t want to attract mud to the good name I’ve laboured to build over the years.”
