The Attorney General of the Federation has filed 23-count charges against late Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu.

Initial reports said the 42-year-old was suffering from throat cancer, but her family has denied these claims insisting she was a victim of domestic abuse.

Her husband and manager, who is also a pastor, was arrested by the police on April 11.

Though he has denied all allegations of abuse, he was still charged under Sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, as well as Sections 221 of the Penal Code and the Violence Against Persons Act (VAPP).

He is accused of evicting Osinachi from the family home and throwing her from a moving vehicle. He was said to have restrained his late wife’s movement and locked her in their home.

He is said to have withheld Osinachi’s money, isolating her from family and cruelly beating the children and recording their cries, as well as threatening them and preventing them from reporting the violence against their mother.

Only the police, according to the National Hospital in Abuja, will release the report of the autopsy conducted on the late gospel singer, which is believed to have been handed over to the DPP. This will be used to determine the cause of death.
