FG Slams 23-Count Charge Against Husband Of Late Gospel Singer, Osinachi


The Attorney-General of the Federation has filed 23-count charges against Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late gospel artist, Osinachi.

Initial reports said the 42-year-old was suffering from throat cancer, but her family denies this, claiming she was a victim of domestic abuse.

Her husband and manager, Peter Nwachukwu, a pastor, was arrested by the police on April 11.

Though he has denied all allegations of abuse but he was still charged under sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, as well as Sections 221 of the Penal Code and the Violence Against Persons Act (VAPP).


He is accused of evicting Osinachi from the family home and throwing her from a moving vehicle. and he was said to have restrained his late wife’s movement and locked her in their home.

He is said to have withheld Osinachi’s money, isolating her from family and cruelly beating the children and recorded their cries, as well as threatening them and preventing them from reporting the violence against their mother.

Only the police, according to the National Hospital in Abuja, will release the report of the autopsy conducted on late gospel singer which is believed to have been handed over to the DPP. This will be used to determine the cause of death.
