Baby Sussex has arrived!
Prince Harry and Meghan just welcomed a baby boy. Meghan went into labour first thing this morning. The Duchess of Sussex, 37, has been keeping a low profile with her husband, the Duke of Sussex, 34, in their new home of Frogmore Cottage. It was previously expected Meghan Markle would have a home birth as she and Harry try to keep the arrival private.
The couple had previously announced their newborn would not be making his or her public appearance on its first day in the world, a step away from royal tradition.
“I’m just over the moon,” Prince Harry said in announcing the birth of his son and first child.
The newborn weighed in at seven pounds and three ounces. The baby was born at 5:26 a.m., local time, according to Buckingham Palace.
Both mom and baby are “doing well,” the palace said in a statement.
