When it comes to controversies, 2018 was a year filled with happenings and drama that held the internet in frenzy.

Social media dissected many cases of several celebrities who decided to entertain their fans with their problems. For some, however, it was a mere coincidence and somehow they end up getting famous for their actions.

1.Cynthia Nwadiora (Cee-C)

Following the drama that ensued during the Big Brother Naija season 3, tagged, ‘Double Wahala’. Cee-C who was one of the most popular was also one of the most controversial as a result of her attitude with other housemates.

She was therefore tagged as the most bitter woman on google. Her attitude on the show caused a lot of controversies on social media and it’s still doing that.

2.Tonto Dikeh

She has managed to stay famous with her very interesting lifestyle on social media. Proud to be a dedicated mother, she also recently went under the knife to enhance her behind. Her decision to go under the knife was heavily popularised and even landed her a reality TV show with Linda Ikeji.

The show did not go as planned when her estranged husband, Churchill dragged her to court over featuring their son in the adult content filled the show.

3.Dorcas Shola Fapson

Ms DSF as she’s fondly called had an issue with a Taxify driver where she accused him of rape and kidnap. She posted the videos on social media and people came for her. Some were on her side while some were against her.

4.Bam Bam

The Big Brother Double Wahala edition was simply hot because of these two. Bambam and Teddy A started their friendship/love affair in the house and took it up a notch when one night they were both seen digging it in the toilet. The entire internet went into a frenzy when these two were caught right in the act.

5.Chimamanda Adichie

The feminist advocate became controversial when she mentioned that men opening the door for their women is interpreted as a weakness to women. Social media didn’t take it easy with the Nobel prize writer. Some saw as been over the board while few accepted it. Feminism is still an issue in Nigeria.

6.Beverly Osu

Actress, reality tv star and model joined the controversy scene when she put up a photo shoot where she dressed as a nun with a cigarette for her birthday. Nigerian froze the internet for hours dissecting the idea behind the shoot.

7.Olori Prophetess Shilekunola

The new wife of the traditional ruler, Ooni of Ife wedding rites and religion became a matter for social media. The controversy began when people found out she was a 25-year-old prophetess and she had to step on a substance that looked like blood. Nigerian had different views about the new queen and the wedding rites at the Ooni of Ife.

Mercy Aigbe is not new to the controversy scene and 2018 wasn’t any different. Stew was a trend introduced very late in 2018 as a result of the music video of a single by Wizkid that featured Tiwa Savage in a romantic setting with the Star Boy.  People had different interpretations of Stew and Tiwa Savage had series of reply for everyone that had something to say about her relationship with Wizkid.

10.Linda Ikeji

Top blogger, Linda Ikeji broke the internet with the news of her pregnancy. The mother of one who has always preached about celibacy over the years got a lot of tongues wagging as she shared her pregnancy photos earlier in the year.

She later came up with the revelation of her son’s father and the story behind their separation. This revelation held the internet in frenzy and a lot of people came for the billionaire blogger.
