The name Rahama Sadau might not immediately ring a bell yet if you are a fan of Hausa movies you definitely must have spotted this beauty on your screens.

Rahama Sadau is an award-winning actress who has starred in numerous Kannywood and Nollywood movies. Sadau turns a year older today, December 7, 2018.

Early Life & Education

Rahama Ibrahim Sadau was born on December 7, 1992, in Kaduna, Nigeria.  She is 25 years old.

She spent most of her early life in Kaduna State, where she lived with her parents and sisters.

Sadau is currently studying Human Resource Management at a school of Business and Finance of Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus.

Acting Career

Sadau’s acting break came in 2013 when she came in contact with Nigerian actor, Ali Nuhu who introduced her to the world of acting.

Despite the fact that her parents did not really like the idea of their daughter going into the movie industry, Rahama went on to star in the movie called Gani Ga Wane and that was the moment that changed her life.

Over the past few years, she has starred in numerous Kannywood and Nollywood movies, including Rariya, Rumana, Sons of the Caliphate, MTV Shuga 9ja and many others.


In early October 2016, Rahama Sadau was reportedly banned from the Hausa film industry (Kannywood) by the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) due to her performance in a music video.

 

The Actress revealed that although the ban wasn’t a good experience it was a stepping stone as it opened doors in her career.

Awards and Achievements

Over the years Rahama Sadau has bagged a couple of awards. In 2014, she won the category of Best New Actress at the City People Awards. That same year she also won an award at Arewa Films Awards.

 

In 2015 she emerged as the Best African Actress at African Film Awards and Face of Kannywood at the 2016 City People Entertainment Awards.

Sadau is also the CEO of Sadau Pictures and Sadau Beauty, her makeup line.
