On Sunday, 7th of October, 2018,  a formal declaration of former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili’s intention to run for Presidency in 2019 was announced. She is going as the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria.

1. She is passionate about fighting corruption. She co-founded Transparency International; the global anti-corruption body with headquarters in Berlin, Germany.

2. She is an icon in the financial sphere. She is also very knowledgeable about improving a nations economic standing. She was Vice President of the World Bank’s Africa division from May 2007 to May 2012.

3. She is a strong advocate for women’s rights. She was and still is one of the founders and major advocates of the globally acclaimed  Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) advocacy group.

4. She has previously served the nation courageously. First as the Minister of Solid Minerals in June 2005 and as the Minister of Education in June 2006.
