Semolina Crepes Is The Healthier Pancake And Here’s How You Can Make It

Low in cholesterol, semolina is a great source of protein, and a healthy food substance that can turn into several delicious meals.

We’ve always used semolina as our swallow that we take with our favourite native soups, but do you know that this is yet another semolina recipe? Try out this recipe for semolina crepes, and you’ll definitely get a good one in your mouth. The Indians call it ‘Rava Dosa’, and this meal is certainly a substitute for pancake.

This healthy snack shouldn’t be taken alone, but you can take it with stew, cream, sauce, tomato ketchup, avocado dip, mayonnaise, or any tasty accompaniment you’d like.


Here’s how to make Semolina crepes:

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups semolina (ground and course)
  2. 1 cup plain yogurt
  3. 1 or ½ cup water
  4. Canola/grapeseed/olive spray oil
  5. Salt

Procedure

    1. Mix semolina and yoghurt in a large bowl.
    2. Add some water so the batter can be thick and smooth.
    3. Add salt, mix well, cover and set aside for 10,15 minutes
    4. Spray some oil in a pan just to lightly coat the pan.
    5. With a ladle, pour 2 spoons of the already made batter while the heat is on low or medium.
    6. Turn the heat on low so that your crepe won’t get burnt.
    7. As soon as it changes colour and converts from liquid to solid, use a spatula and flip it over.
    8. Keep on flipping on both sides until the crepe shows light brown spots on its surface.
    9. Continue this way until you make several semolina crepes.
    10. Take the semolina crepes with any kind of sauce, cream, paste, topping or fruit you like. It goes well with virtually anything.
    11. Serve your friends or family and have a wonderful meal together.
