History was made when Shatu Garko emerged as the 44th Miss Nigeria. The event was held on Friday, December 17th night at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Garko beat 17 other contestants to emerge the winner. Nicole Ikot was the first runner up while Kasarachi Okoro was the second runner-up in the contest.

With her win, she walks home with N10 million, a brand new car, 1-year residency in a luxury apartment, and other ambassadorial opportunities.
