Sinach has added yet another feather to her list of achievements as she becomes the first Black person to top the Billboard Christian Songwriters Chart in the USA. She also topped the charts for seven consecutive weeks.
Billboard USA is the music industry standard record chart for songs published weekly by Billboard magazine.
“In short, Sinach has accumulated the most points out of any other Christian market songwriter for the past seven weeks. My analysis is that the large number of recorded versions of the song Waymaker are adding up to this accomplishment and acknowledgment. The other songwriters on this list have dozens of different songs recorded by other artists that are comprising their “points total,” said Les Moir, A&R Ambassador at Integrity Music Europe.
She made this known via Instagram.
Her song ‘Waymaker,’ originally released in 2016, recently gained massive popularity following performances by Elevation Worship and other Christian rock bands.
Other songwriters on the list are Jason Ingram, Matthew West, Lauren Daigle, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, Jeff Pardo, Paul Mabury, Hank Bentley, and Ethan Hulse.
She also thanked her team, family, mom, siblings, Pastor Chris, and Billboard for the award.
Sinach had received a gold plaque from Youtube in March for reaching 1million subscribers.
