So many women often use the bathroom or their bath tub as a relaxation room. As much as you need to have a good bath or you spend time in the bathroom, you need to know the bad habits you need to break from.

Here are showering habits you need to stop doing right now in order to maintain a good skin and a good habit.

1.Hanging Your Sponge On The Wall

It is very common for many of us to hang our sponges somewhere in the bathroom after a bath especially on the wall. But did you know that if you don’t rinse off your sponge well and ensure it’s dry, it could lead to skin issues?

When your sponge is wet, it creates the perfect breeding ground for germs and bacteria to thrive. Ensure your sponge is not only rinsed properly but also dry and stored in a clean place, maybe a sponge case that you clean daily.

2.Taking Only A Hot Bath

If you’re a fan of hot showers be sure to blast your skin with cold water right before you step out of the shower. Hot showers are the best way to start your day but you are hurting your body’s natural defense with that hot water. Try turning it down to lukewarm.


This simple trick has been linked to increased tolerance to stress, fat burning and has anti-depressing effects.

3.Long Showering Hours

We know this point is quite shocking but it’s true and it’s for your own good. Experts suggest that taking shorter baths are much better for the skin. Long baths, where your skin starts to shrivel up can lead to loss of natural oil in the skin. Instead, keep your baths short, say between 5 – 10 minutes and you’re good to go.

4.Cleaning Your Body Too Harshly

We know you’re trying to dry your body but do not do that harshly or vigorously, it isn’t great for your skin at all. This could lead to the dry and irritated skin you have which could also lead to excessive dryness and acne. Most people prefer to air dry the body but that isn’t great either as it could lead to chaffing.

Just dry your body gently without having to do it vigorously. Make sure your  keep towel in a dry state.

5.All of the bathroom accessories should be dried out.

The warm, humid environment is the perfect ground for bacteria that causes Staph Aureus infection, Candida yeast infections and fungus to grow. Everything from soap to razors should be dried every day.
