Date fruits commonly known as dried dates, dates, date palm are one-seeded fruits of the date palm tree.
They are commonly found in the Nothern part of Nigeria and are highly nutritious and beneficial to one’s health.
Dried date fruits contain a high percentage of carbohydrates, calcium, iron, and sodium. They also have essential vitamins like; Vitamins A, C, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), and nicotinic acid (niacin)
Date fruits may be seeded, chopped and spread on bread, cakes, pudding, cereal, ice cream. It can also be used to make alcoholic beverages and juices.
Today we share with you a healthy Date Nut Milkshake Recipe
Here’s what you’ll need
1/2 cup of chopped dates
1/2 cup cold milk
1 cup good-quality vanilla ice cream
Nutmeg or Cinnamon for extra flavor (optional)
Whipped Cream (optional)
- In a blender, process the dates and 1/4 cup milk at high speed until smooth.
- Add remaining 1/4 cup milk, vanilla ice cream, and nutmeg or cinnamon powder blending at low speed until well mixed.
- Pour into a tall, chilled glass, top with whipped cream, and serve immediately.
