Lionheart follows the industrious Ada who must work with her uncle to save her father’s legacy and transport company in less than one month. The movie features veteran actors like Onyeka Owenu, Kanayo .O. Kanayo, Nkem Owoh, and others
Some Nigerians have praised the film’s stunning portrayal of Eastern Nigeria and its rich cultural heritage.
On the other hand, others have criticized the film for having loopholes surrounding the auditors and the main subject of the film.
Here are some of Nigerian’s reactions to Genevieve’s Lion Heart movie:
Another impressive aspect of Genevieve’s #Lionheart is its humanizing portrayal of the North as a place of truly enterprising and integrating people, beyond the familiar Nollywood caricatures of the North as producers of gate-men and unintelligent illiterates. We are progressing.

A movie that celebrates a firstborn girl child rather than the male.
A movie that eulogises culture rather than paint it as evil.
A movie that depicts family as working together rather than killing each other.#LionHeart

The father didn’t get heart attack because of Jazz.
The uncle didn’t try to take over the company.
The female child is the man’s pride.
The son wasn’t victimised for being into music.
Kanayo O Kanayo had clean wealth instead of doing money rituals.#LionHeart is a revolution…— OurFavOnlineDoctor ?? (@DrOlufunmilayo) January 5, 2019

Kanayo O Kanayo did not do blood money.
Nkem Owoh didn’t kill his brother, take over his business and marry his wife.
Pete Edochie was not a mean Godfather.
Pete Edochie’s son Phyno was not a bad boy.

In a typical Igbo family, the eldest male child is the hair to his father’s business or company. But #LionHeart dealt with this stereotype. It wasn’t an heir this time,it was an HEIRESS.#LionHeart I stan! pic.twitter.com/qf0tBSM3o1

My favorite scene in Lion heart was the dining conversation in Igbo. The dialogue was so rich and funny.
I also like how the Igbo was not mixed with English.#Lionheart

Nkem Owoh as an Ibo Uncle didn’t outsmart his niece.
Phyno, the only son of a millionaire wasnt prodigal.
Kanayo O. Kanayo didn’t do blood money.

On Lionheart.
This Cinema piece has compelling cinematography but slightly above average direction from first time movie director, Nnaji.
With an impressive cast, its plot isn’t devoid of the cliche. In all, It’s a feel good movie filled with a lot of….heart
