The dry season is finally upon us bringing with it Harmattan which is not very friendly with our hair.

The season taking care of your natural hair may seem a little tricky but we have you covered with these 5 tips that will help your hair remain healthy and strong all through the dry season.

1. Moisturize

Please moisturize your hair. Ensure you moisturize your hair. Can you remember to moisturize your hair? The importance of this singular process will determine how our hair fares in the dry season. Because the weather will be trying everything to get the water content in your hair, use a water-based moisturizer to replace the ones you lost to heat.

2. Co-wash only

Shampooing your hair will dry it out , so instead go for c-washing only. Do this preferably with warm water, so your hair can retain more moisture.


3. Deep condition your hair regularly

This will help your hair lock in moisture and not give in to the dry weather. Deep conditioning at least once in a week is all you need for a healthy hair in the dry season.

4. Ensure you have a spray bottle at the ready

This spray bottle will hold a mixture of water, oil and glycerine. This is one simple way to maintain your hair moisture level and avoid damage.

5. Protective styles are a good alternative

If you know constantly moisturizing your hair won’t fit in to your schedule, then a protective style is what you need. Protective styles ensure your hair is protected from the elements and undamaged.
