This 103-Year-Old Woman Celebrated Her Recovery From Coronavirus In The Most Unusual Way

This 103-year-old woman has decided nothing is going to stop her, not even coronavirus.

Jennie Stejna who contracted coronavirus early May, marked her full recovery with a cold bottle of beer.

The Polish-American woman was the first person to contract COVID-19 at her Wilbraham, Massachusetts nursing home, and she became the first person at the facility to beat it.

She fought the virus for about 20 days, her granddaughter, Shelley Gunn said.

The great-great-grandmother of three had told relatives she was ready to “go to heaven”.

They all said their goodbyes when her condition worsened.

But then the next day, her family was stunned when Stejna woke up and said, “I’m not sick.”

But on May 13 they were greeted with the good news that she beat coronavirus.

Gunn’s husband had said; This feisty old polish grandmother of ours officially beat the coronavirus.

To celebrate overcoming the virus, the nursing home staff gave Stejna an ice cold Bud Light, something she loved but hadn’t had in a long time, Gunn said.

Gunn added that even before her battle with coronavirus, she “could run circles around anyone.”

She lived and worked at a mill with her husband of 54 years, Teddy, until his death in 1992.
