However, not many know his first wife, Katherine Obiang, who has maintained a low profile even after their marriage ended over twelve years ago.

Early Life

Katherine Obiang, formerly Katherine Edoho, was Frank Edoho’s first wife. She is an on-air personality, broadcaster, TV presenter, media entrepreneur, and actress.
Born on May 17 to a Cameroonian father and a mother from the Efik tribe in Nigeria, she was raised in both Cameroon and Nigeria due to her mixed heritage. She holds a degree in accountancy from Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH).

Career

Katherine began her career in broadcasting following an internship in the accounts section of a radio station post-graduation. She shot into the limelight while working as a TV presenter on AM Express (a popular morning show) for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She also worked with Nigeria Info 99.3 FM as an on-air personality, where she hosted a weekday show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
She is the founder of a media production company, 2 PM Media. As of 2024, she co-hosts Jasiri on News Central TV, a show addressing current affairs.

Acting

Katherine made her debut in acting in 2012 as ‘Rume’ in the movie Journey to Self, directed by Tope Oshin and produced by Ashionye Raccah.

Personal Life

Obiang met Frank Edoho in the early 2000s while he was at the University of Calabar, and they soon struck up a friendship. They dated for four years and were married for seven years. Their marriage produced three children, a son and two daughters. They separated in 2010, and they officially divorced in 2013. In 2014, she officially reverted to her maiden name, Obiang.

In an interview with The Net.ng, she revealed that she experienced domestic abuse in her marriage, and she wished they had just remained friends instead of getting married.
