From winning a Grammy to being one of Nigeria’s most sought-after female singers, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has shown she has what it takes to be a star. In this interview titled ‘Flow With Korty‘ with Korty EO, a popular YouTuber and filmmaker, Tems has shown her vulnerable side as she talks about growing up, her music career, and her love life.
The Love Me Jeje Crooner, who grew up with her mother and brother in Ilupeju, said she grew up as a shy and introverted girl.
She would later find herself studying Economics at the university. Upon graduation, she got a job in digital marketing, which she hated. She was always picked on and constantly bullied, which left her feeling angry all the time.
This phase of life necessitated a change, which in turn became a defining moment in her life by helping her find her passion for music.
When asked if she had been ever been in love, she revealed that she had never before in love. She also opined that love meant knowing all the flaws of a person and loving them regardless, adding that love wasn’t blind but she was looking forward to experiencing true love someday.
On her ideal man, she listed being emotionally intelligent, funny, and spiritually adept as the qualities that she is looking for.
