Veronica shared her story on Linked-in and its been trending.

About a year ago, I made a life and career-changing decision. That was to join the Nigerian military. I must say, it has been a great journey so far.

After my first degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, I shortly did my master’s degree in the same course, all the while I was concurrently working at WAP Tv as a presenter. I had a good and amazing career in broadcasting for 7 years.
The Nigerian military has always held a funny mystery to me, in that I find it easy to see more men in the military than women, I began my research on it and surely I found some interesting things. Apparently, In the military, there are only 3 women out of 10 people. Just 3! (that is fast changing I must say)
“I have to be among that 3 percent,” I said to myself. That was the turning point for me. Along with my flair for a more adventurous journey, a great broadcasting career, and my desire to be among the 3 of 10, I made the decision to switch careers. I went through the necessary training and now I’m a proud Officer of the Nigerian Navy.

If you are one of the people who believe women in the military are emotionless or stone-cold, get in line to be flogged, Lol. But really, that’s not true. We still want to be loved, be pampered, be taken care of like every other woman.
