I’ve spent about a month traveling, working, and straight-up relaxing through small small parts of Europe this summer and quite frankly, I’m ready to head back to Lagos where the heat at least, makes sense ? I’m still doing my partnership with @gant – as much as the majority of my wardrobe/suitcase is a growing collection of old t-shirts, stretchy pants and hiking shoes, I still enjoy my softer, more feminine moments, especially when in a line of work where being just that among male and female colleagues alike and while out in the field can serve as a disadvantage (conversation for another day, beloveds). ?: @israelpeters #GANT #Partnership #ad #GANTrugger #heatwavebye #helloLagos

My French mood ?. It’s one of my slower days in this part of the world and it’s a bit surreal to be here thanks to @festivalpilours, especially after the tornado of projects and places these last couple of months. My days have been softer and kinder and I’m trying to ignore the nagging but familiar, ‘you need to move’ itch that comes with a history of consistent change. When I moved to the States, within 2 months, I had a steady job. I’ve shelved books and done endless data entry work, I’ve waited on people, I’ve knocked on doors with a clipboard, I’ve been a nanny, I’ve sold shoes, knives (if you know the company, you know lol), and candy. I’ve slept in dark basements and on couches and in the homes of strangers and on floors with no mattress for months at a time. I’ve chosen transport over food, stayed in relationships for shelter (a mess) and so many times, traded pride for opportunity and quite often, for leniency in a world not kind or patient enough for those with less. Everything has led me to where I am today ??‍♀️(a good place) because that nag always came, ‘you need to move’. To move away from situations and environments, and even some paths that seemed so good, clear and certain, but was not mine. If you feel that nag, sometimes even when you’re in a safe space(sometimes o! before you go and say Aunty Yaga told you to go and do whatever), it can be completely worth exploring.
