
Nigerian women are known for being bold and audacious, as seen with their feats in the Guinness World Record books.
Guinness World Records is the ultimate global authority on record-breaking activities undertaken by individuals. Over the years, this incredible feat achieved by world record holders has inspired people, individuals, families, and countries.
Some Nigerian women have proved that there is no limitation to success whatsoever, and they have gone ahead to etch their names in the Guinness Book of Records.
Here are fourteen of them.
1. Kafayat Shafau

Kafayat Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, broke the world record for the longest dance with a time of 52 hours and 3 minutes in 2006. She did this with her team, Imagneto, at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon. The renowned fitness and dance instructor, Kaffy, has her own dance school.
2. Tuedon Omatsola Morgan

Tuedon Omatsola Morgan is a Nigerian-British woman who received the Guinness World Records title for the fastest time to complete a half-marathon on each continent and the North Pole in 62 days, 12 hr, 58 min, and 49 sec. She achieved this at 42.
Married with four kids, Tuedon started her journey with a desire to change her unhealthy lifestyle.
3. Odumewu Debbie Sunmisola

On Thursday, November 24, 2017, Odumewu Debbie, also known as Pinki Debbie, not only broke a Guinness World Record but also set a new record for the longest dancing marathon by an individual.
Debbie, a dancer, choreographer, aspiring actress, and presenter, broke the record set by Indian woman Kalamandalam Hemaletha, who danced for 123 hours and 15 minutes. She succeeded in beating the record but didn’t meet her intended target of 150 hours. She instead attained 137 hours, which is almost 6 days of consistent dancing.
4. Blessing Okagbare

Nigerian athlete Okagbare holds the Guinness World Record for the most appearances in Diamond League Meetings, making a total of 67 appearances between the 3rd of July 2010 and the 31st of August 2018.
5. Tobi Amusan

Amusan became the first-ever Nigerian world champion and world record holder in an athletics event when she won the 2022 World Championships 100 m hurdles gold medal, setting the current world record of 12.12 seconds in the semi-final of the 100 m hurdles. Her Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 m hurdles (female) was set on July 24, 2022.
6. Hilda Baci

On Monday, May 15th, 2023, Nigerian chef Hilda Baci put her name in the record books when she broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time of 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds, set by Chef Lata Tondon in Rewa, India, in 2019.
Not resting on her oars, Baci took it a step further by attempting the world’s largest jollof rice pot record in September 2025. In January 2026, she received news from the record body that she had broken two records: the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice and the largest serving of rice overall during her quest in 2025, making her a three-time Guinness World Record holder.
7. Helen Williams

This wig maker from Lagos has a hat trick of records. Williams made history when she set the world’s longest handmade wig record in July 2023 and the widest wig record in 2014. She also added the world’s tallest wig to her collection in December 2025.
8. Clara Kronborg

Chizoba Clara Kronborg set the Guinness World Record for the longest interviewing marathon at 55 hr, 24 sec in Marbella, Spain. Starting her quest on March 8, 2024, she interviewed a total of 90 guests and ended on March 10.
9. Lola Mewu

Nigerian artist Lola Mewu set the Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon. She began painting on Saturday, October 28, at around 6:30 p.m. and hit the 72-hour mark on Tuesday, October 31, but set a new record by reaching the 82-hour mark on November 1, 2023.
Her record was broken by Godwin Chika in April 2025.
10. Chidinma Modupe Okafor

In June 2024, Chidinma Okafor set a new Guinness World Record for the longest crocheting marathon with a time of 72 hours.
11. Ololade Ayelabola

Ololade Ayelabola set a new Guinness World Record for the longest catwalk walked by a model, completing a 130.62 km catwalk, which began as a 120 km attempt on October 1 at the indoor sports center.
She not only set a new record, but she also completed an additional 10 km walk, totaling 2,058 laps, which ended on October 5, 2024.
12. Liz Sanya

On the 5th of January 2025, British-Nigerian designer Liz Sanya holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest sandal, measuring 8.14 m (26 ft 8 in) long and 3.15 m (10 ft 4 in) wide.
She began her 72-hour journey on January 2, completing it on the 5th of January, 2025, at Pixel Park, Lekki, Lagos.
13. Tacha

Ex-BBNaija star Tacha set two individual Guinness World Records simultaneously during her “Makeup-A-Thon” event held in Lagos on October 11, 2025, for most cosmetic makeovers in 8 hours (individual) and also most cosmetic makeovers in 24 hours (individual).
14. Tesglam

Nigerian makeup artist and entrepreneur Theresa Emegwara, known as Tesglam on Instagram, set the Guinness World Record for completing the longest continuous makeup session by an individual, held in Lagos. Tesglam completed the feat in August 2025 in 146 hours.
